What TonySkill is

TonySkill is a website of free online tools to process files: convert images, compress a photo or video, merge or sign a PDF, remove a photo's metadata, convert a Word or Excel document, trim audio, subtitle a video, create a graphic, and much more. The site has over 200 tools, grouped into nine families: image, PDF, office documents, audio and video, metadata removal, compression, editors, downloader and graphic design. It is available in English and French.

No account to create, no watermark imposed by the site, nothing to install.

Our principle: local processing first

Whenever it is technically possible, the work happens in your browser: your file is read and transformed by your own device and is never sent to us. This is the case for the vast majority of tools, including those that use artificial intelligence (background removal, automatic subtitles, image upscaling, OCR, etc.), whose models are downloaded once from our site and then kept in your browser.

A few tools cannot run in a browser: converting Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents with LibreOffice, text-to-speech voices, the video downloader, and some heavy AI processing (colorization, advanced photo restoration, video enhancement, PDF summaries, etc.). For those, data is sent to a computer that we operate ourselves, not to a third-party AI or conversion service. It is processed and then deleted, and the tool's page says so clearly. Everything is detailed in the Privacy Policy.

We prefer to be frank: this server is a single machine, not a large data center. It may sometimes be busy or unavailable, and very large files are limited.

Limits, stated plainly

Everything is free: no account, no payment, no watermark added by the site. If a tool ever changes, its page says so.
File size: it depends on the tool and on your device's memory, and each tool page gives its own limit. Audio and video converters: files up to 95 MB are converted on our server, larger ones (up to 1 GB) in your browser.
Our server is one machine: tools that use it (see above) can be busy, slow or paused for maintenance. A tool in maintenance says so on its page.
Some AI tools have a daily quota per visitor, shown on the tool when it applies.
We do not guarantee a result: damaged, protected (DRM, password) or unusual files can fail. The tool then shows a message instead of an empty result.

Why this site

TonySkill exists because most everyday file tasks — converting a photo, merging PDFs, compressing a video — should not require an account, a subscription or sending your files to a stranger. The goal is simple: tools that are free, honest about what they do, and that work on your own device whenever possible.

Funding

The tools are free. The site shows no advertising today; if it ever does to cover running costs, it will not change how your files are processed.
