To convert Hindi text to speech for free, type or paste your text in Devanagari above (2,000 characters at most), pick one of the 4 Hindi voices, click “Generate voice”, then download the MP3 or WAV. No sign-up. The voice is generated on our server, so your text is sent there in short pieces.
The four Hindi voices
Hindi is selected for you on this page. The list holds 4 native Hindi voices: two female (Alpha and Beta) and two male (Omega and Psi). Click the speaker button next to the list to hear a sample before you generate.
We generated a short Hindi greeting with the Alpha voice as a check: it came back as a 2.3-second audio file, in the same 24 kHz mono format as every voice of the tool.
- Write in Devanagari (हिन्दी). Hindi typed in Latin letters is not what these voices are made for.
- Speed goes from 0.5× to 2× and pitch from 0.75 to 1.35; use a slower speed for learners.
- Listen to the result before you download: pronunciation of names, numbers and English words inside a Hindi sentence can differ from what you expect.
MP3 or WAV
The MP3 is encoded in your browser at 128 kbps, about three times lighter than the WAV, and plays everywhere (phone, WhatsApp, video editors). Choose the WAV if you will edit the audio again. For other formats use the audio converter.
Limits and your text
- 2,000 characters per generation: for a longer text, generate it in several parts.
- Your text is sent to our server, in pieces of about 400 characters, to produce the voice. Do not paste anything you would not send to a server. The privacy policy says how long it stays.
- Free, no account, no watermark. Other languages are in Text to Speech.
