Frequently asked questions

How do I turn a photo into 3D?

Drop the photo: an open AI model (Depth Anything V2) estimates how far each pixel is. The photo is then warped by that depth while the camera moves, which creates the 3D effect. You set the movement, intensity and still point, then download the video.

Which photos work best?

A sharp subject well separated from the background: portrait, pet, object, landscape with a foreground. Fine hair, glass or reflections may ripple slightly; lower the intensity then. It's a 2.5D effect: behind the subject the image is stretched, not re-imagined as some paid tools do.

What video format do I get?

A seamlessly looping MP4 (H.264) of 3, 5 or 8 seconds, up to 1920 pixels, with no sound or watermark. If your browser can't encode H.264, the video comes out as WebM.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Depth estimation and video making happen in your browser. The engine (about 27 MB) is downloaded once from our site.
