How to blur faces in a photo or video
Pick Photo or Video and drop your file: faces are found and blurred automatically (tracked throughout the video).
Check: click a face to remove or add it, and draw a box over a plate or a missed face (in a video, set where it starts and ends).
Pick blur, pixels or black, then download the photo or create the blurred video.
Why blur faces here
- Faces found on their own
- A face detector spots every face, even small ones, and blurs it right away. Doubtful cases are suggested to you rather than decided for you.
- Plates and misses by hand
- A simple box hides a license plate, a screen, a name or a face the detector missed.
- Several photos at once
- Drop up to 50 photos: each one is processed, can be checked one by one, and everything downloads as a ZIP.
- Nothing is uploaded
- Everything happens in your browser, and metadata (GPS location, camera) is stripped from the saved image.

Frequently asked questions
How do I blur every face in a photo?
Drop the photo: a face detector (MediaPipe BlazeFace) finds the faces and blurs them right away. Check the result, add a missed face with a box if needed, then download. You can drop several photos at once: they come out together in a ZIP.
How do I blur faces in a video?
Tap “Video” and drop your file (up to 10 minutes). Faces are detected then tracked from frame to frame, so the blur doesn't flicker. The preview shows the exact result: remove a face with a click, or draw a fixed box over a plate for the time range you want. The original audio is kept. Everything runs in your browser: expect about 1.5 minutes of processing per minute of video on a computer, more on a phone. In a moving crowd, a face in profile or hidden may slip past the tracking: watch the video before sharing it.
What about license plates?
Plates are blurred by hand: draw a box over them (with the mouse, or after tapping “Draw an area” on a phone). Only faces are detected automatically: we would rather say so plainly than promise unreliable plate detection.
Are all faces found?
In a group photo or a portrait, yes in our tests (8 faces out of 8). In a crowd, with sunglasses, profiles or heads turned away, only about one face in two is found automatically: uncertain faces are suggested as dotted outlines and you must check before sharing. Paid tools do better on crowds.
Can the blur be undone?
No. The face pixels are replaced in the saved image: there is no layer to remove. Blur and pixelation are deliberately strong; for maximum safety (sensitive documents), choose “Black”.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Detection and blurring happen in your browser: your photos never leave your device. The engine (about 15 MB) is downloaded once from our site. The original metadata (EXIF, GPS location) is not copied into the saved image.
