How to record your screen

  1. Pick your options (webcam, microphone, computer sound), then click "Start recording".

  2. Select the screen, window or tab to share. After 3 seconds recording begins; you can pause it.

  3. Click "Stop", check the preview, then download the video.

Is the recording uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser: the video stays on your computer and is never sent to a server.

Is there a watermark or a time limit?

Neither. Beyond roughly an hour, though, your computer's memory may fill up: stop and download before then.

Can I record the computer's sound?

Yes with Chrome or Edge, by sharing a tab or the entire screen and ticking "Share audio". Safari and Firefox don't allow it; the microphone works everywhere.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

No. In-browser screen recording only works on a computer (recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari).

What video format do I get?

MP4 when your browser supports it (recent Chrome, Edge, Safari), otherwise WebM. You can then convert or compress the video with our other tools.
