Frequently asked questions
How do I increase a video's resolution?
Drop the video and click “Upscale the video”: each frame goes through Real-ESRGAN (general x4v3 model), an open AI that rebuilds edges and texture, then the video is put back together at twice the size with its original sound.
Does the AI invent detail?
It rebuilds what's plausible: sharper edges, cleaner textures. It won't make unreadable text or a face that was blurry appear. On a heavily compressed video, the result is cleaner but not comparable to a real high-definition shot.
Why the length limits?
Processing happens on our server, one video at a time: about 0.16 seconds per 640×360 frame. So everyone gets a turn, the maximum length depends on size (about a minute at 640×360, 25 seconds at 720p). The page tells you before uploading.
Is my video kept?
No. It's sent to our server, processed, then deleted right away; the result is removed after you download it (or after 15 minutes).
